RECENT APARTMENT REVIEWS IN STATE OF PENNSYLVANIA

DREXEL HILL, PENNSYLVANIA
Tall Trees Village Apartments
" I, myself, lived at Tall Trees less than a year ago. It was a complete dump with
a Slum Lord. The rent itself is ridiculously over priced for such disgraceful
living situations. The management spent so much money making the outside seem
inviting to future residents, while forgetting about the ones who lived there
already. I disagree with the maintenance men being the problem, though. If it
wasn’t for them, nothing, and I do mean nothing would have ever been done. My
real problem was with the lack of respect and professionalism shown by the
office employees. The women were “catty” and very incompetent. My spouse had his
motorcycle stolen, not once but twice here. (2 different ones) It was very
apparent it was an inside job. One of the nights this was done, 7 others were
stolen from other residents. Another major issue is the lack of security. Most
fire exits were never locked from the outside and were left open, allowing for
one resident in the same building I lived in, to have someone break in and steal
all her Christmas gifts. Also, there have been countless drug deal busts in this
complex. One was inside my building. It seemed like the entire Delaware County
SWAT Team was outside in the parking lot. This complex was also the filthiest I
have ever seen. There were many times that trash was overflowing from the
dumpsters onto the parking lot. I couldn’t even walk my dog for fear she’d step
in all the broken glass that was around there. If you even tried to call the
office to make a complaint, their childish office staff would almost make you
feel like you were the one who made the dumpster overflow, and it wasn’t their
problem. If you can afford to live here, you can afford to look elsewhere to get
a better living arrangement." (2010)
PHOENIXVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA
Eland Downe Apartments
"
MANICURED LAWNS, PROFESSIONAL CARING MANAGEMENT, LUXURY AMENITIES....Eland
Downe. We moved to here after searching extensively for a place to accomodate
caring for an ill family member and raising 2 girls in a SAFE community. WE
FOUND IT! Our Eland Downe townhome was and is the best value for the price. Do
the research. There's no other that will give the square footage and amenities
that are offered at the price especially in this economy. Now the girls are in
college, we've cared for many family members and still maintain a high level of
respect and admiration for the management and staff of this establishment.
Something seems to always be going on to enhance the asthstetics and
conveniences of living here. The playground has been updated, decks being
rebuilt with the latest low maintenance materials, pool house refurnished and
the laundry is now a full access weight and exercise room, not to mention the
big flat screen TV. Just to mention the continued attempt to make our stay as
tenants more comfortable. THIS ECONOMY DICTATES THAT MORE COMPANIES SHOULD
STRIVE TO MATCH THE STANDARDS SET BY THE MANAGEMENT AT ELAND DOWNE. When we read
negative news about this place, we can't help but wonder if they're writing
about the same place or staff. Really, if your looking for a community where
you'll find it a pleasure to live, this is the place. "(2009)

The Enclaves Apartments
"I just moved into the Enclaves a few months ago and in that time I have really
enjoyed the atmosphere. It is a very secure and comfortable neighborhood. All
the staff and tenants at the Enclaves are all friendly and respectful. Living
here is like living in a hotel everyday. The apartment is immaculate! The
bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable. My kitchen is modern and equipped
with top-of-the-line appliances. The view from the balcony is amazing,
especially at night. From the balcony you can see the beautiful Franklin
Roosevelt Golf Course and the Platt bridge. I love living here and I can see
myself staying here for a lot of time to come."(2009)
WHITE HALL, PENNSYLVANIA
Olympic Garden Apartments
"Do not even consider signing a legally binding contract called a rental
lease here. This place is home to more and more loud/noisy/disruptive
neighbors, tenants, and visitors. Management does not follow their own rules
unless it is to their advantage. They change their own rules on a whim when
it is to their advantage. They lie by saying that they will do something but
don't as well say that this will not happen or will no longer happen but it
does. They say that they will stop something but they do not. They do not
apply their own rules or their own lease equally and uniformly to all
tenants (they show blatant favoritism). They will use every single complaint
of yours against you in your file and turn it to their advantage to
discontinue your lease or get rid of you. They ask you to help them get rid
of known problem tenants by signing a complaint in writing against them but
then the complaint shows up in your file and is used against you.... They have no problem with people doing major work on their cars as
long as they do not see it going on."

CHESTER, PENNSYLVANIA
Heather Glen Apartments
"This place is not worth the money you save in rent. The parking is actually sub
par because if you don't live in the front building, you will very rarely get to
park anywhere near your apartment. The basement of the M building floods every
time it rains and it has been this way for years and management is fully aware
and does nothing about it. The laundary room in this basement always floods and
there is a distinct odor of black mold creeping up the walls. It looks like the
foundation is falling to pieces due to the flooding as well. The doors in the
apartments are put on crooked, the windows do not shut all of the way or lock.
During the winter, the plowing is inadequate and you will be lucky to get your
car out for work, and lucky if you don't slip and fall. They charge for hot
water but do not regulate as well as they say they do. A friend of mine, who
unfortunately is there for a few more months had a problem in his building where
the boiler busted and he wound up with a $400 hot water bill and they had to
fight tooth and nail against it as it wasn't their water usage, usually this
bill is $40-$80. Whenever you call management, consider yourself lucky if you
get a call back. If you request to speak with the owner, that's not going to
happen either because he is in California. This place is becoming a pit that
should be condemned. I tried contacting the Chester County health board and
court house and apparently they do not have jurisdiction over this place yet for
some reason, but when they finally do get it, the manager should beware because
they have logged many complaints regarding this place that they are eager to
jump on when they get approval. "(2009)
Goshen Meadows
"I have lived in a one bedroom w/den apt. at Goshen Meadows for the past 2 years
and would NOT recommend it. The office staff sucks and it feels like a
dormitory. When asked for help from the front office, no one does anything.
The appliances are not put in the correct way and expect maintenance problems,
to which very few will come willingly."(2008)
